Yesterday, Acumatica, a Kirkland, WA-based Cloud ERP services provider, released the results of their Technology Adoption Report. This study, titled “Cloud ERP: An Adaptable, Consumable, And Flexible Option for Medium-Size Businesses,” was conducted by Forrester Consulting and covers the key benefits and concerns expressed by SMBs concerning the adoption of Cloud ERP.
“We believe that Forrester’s insights and understanding of the concerns and needs of SMBs – the customers that rely on and benefit from using Acumatica every day – highlight the tremendous need for adaptability and flexibility in the choice of cloud ERP,” said Stijn Hendrikse, Chief Marketing Officer for Acumatica, in a press release yesterday. “As more SMBs move to the cloud, it’s vital for them to be well-educated about their options for deployment, pricing, integration, data security, and customization,” he added.
Results for the study came from isolated SMB responses from a Q42012 report from Forrester, as well as responses from 52 SMB software decision makers. The study, now generally available in .pdf format here, found that, overall, organizations in the “M” space expect their Cloud ERP solution to be accessible and flexible. Additional key findings include:
- The top three benefits associated with moving to Cloud ERP included more time to work on important projects, quick deployment and improved business agility.
- Top concerns for “M” space organizations looking to Cloud ERP include security and raises in the cost-per-user rates as the company grows.
- Overall, organizations want to be able to access their ERP from any device, on their preferred web-browser.
- Of the SMB organizations who were planning to move to Cloud ERP, over half (52%) explained that they were moving for the lower overall costs of SaaS applications. 41% replied that they were looking for better user-experience from their applications.
- According to Forrester, the amount of SaaS applications in SMB organizations is expected to double over the next two years, from an average of three in 2012 to an average of seven in 2014.
