Earlier this week, Citrix announced that they have closed the acquisition of leading Mobile Device Management organization, Zenprise. Citrix plans to integrate the Zenprise MDM solution into their Me@Work and Citrix CloudGateway solutions. In addition, Citrix will continue to support all global Zenprise customers.
Citrix has appointed Former Zenprise President and CEO, Amit Pandey, to lead their new Mobile Platforms product group. The goal of this acquisition is to allow Citrix to better serve IT departments by providing a full-coverage solution for their mobile device and application management. On this system, customers will be able to securely access any application on any device.
A few features of the Zenprise MDM solution, which will be integrated into Citrix offerings, are as follows:
- Intuitive user dashboard with one-click capabilities
- Built-in BYOD policies and support
- Mobile App Lock, a feature that will prevent non-approved applications from opening on a device
- Broad device platform support
