citrix-logo1Yesterday, Citrix announced the release of two new services for their GoTo solution suite. GoToWebcast, a new audio and video broadcasting system and GoToWebinar/GoToTraining HDFaces beta, both of which are generally available in North America and Europe.

“Audiences are becoming increasingly dispersed as a result of mobile workstyles. It’s becoming ever more important for organizations to find new and engaging ways to connect with a geographically distributed audiences,” said Bernardo de Albergaria, VP and GM of SaaS Products & Markets for Citrix.

GoToWebcast, the latest addition to the company’s collaboration suite, is a subscription-based service that allows users to broadcast audio or video to a maximum of 5000 viewers. This solution also includes support for mobile devices, such as tablets and smartphones. According to Citrix, events on the GoToWebcast service can be set up in five steps and can be shared via social media. To view a demo of the GoToWebcast solution, please visit the site here.

The second announcement made via press release yesterday, an HDFaces beta for the company’s GoToWebinar program, extends the functionality to the 500 and 1000 viewer subscription levels. This will allow organizations to host more “hands-on” presentations for staff and clients. Users may join via HDFaces by turning on their webcams, and the beta supports up to 6 presenters. In addition, the presentations are secured via a 128-bit encryption.
