Edgewater Networks, Inc. recently announced the expansion of is EdgeProtect Enterprise Session Border Controller series to include the EdgeProtect 4550. According to Edgewater Networks, this device was designed specifically for SMBs to provide a secure video conferencing solution within their workspace.
“The EdgeProtect 4550 is a great addition to our existing EdgeProtect ESBC product family. It delivers enterprise-class security and reliability for video conferencing in a platform optimized for SMB. ”said David G. Norman, Chief Executive Officer of Edgewater Networks Inc, in a recent press release.
As of today, the EdgeProtect 4550 comes in two configurations, a 1X10/100 Ethernet WAN and a 4X10/100 Ethernet LAN, both of which can support up to 5 video conversations at once. The EdgeProtect 4550 also comes with support for standards-based SIP and H.323 devices, and interoperability with Cisco, Polycom, Vidyo and Radvision vendor devices. The device can be deployed as a standalone security option, or as part of an organization’s existing security structure.
