Former LPI Manager Jeff Dryall Joins VAR Dynamics as Biz Dev Director

Jeff DryallYou heard it here first…Jeff Dryall informed us today that he taken on a new position at VAR Dynamics as Director of Business Development. Dryall, who most recently was with Level Platforms, left a few weeks after the RMM company was acquired by AVG Technologies, and has since been looking for his next best opportunity.

A permanent fixture within channel circles and industry trade shows, Dryall had been with LPI for more than seven years, working closely with former LPI veterans Dan Wensley and Rob Rae, both of whom have also moved on from LPI. In fact, it was Wensley who brought Dryall over to LPI when the company they worked at together, Net Integration, was acquired by IBM.

"I'm very excited to bring Jeff Dryall on to the team.  We believe his previous channel experience will greatly contribute to ensuring VAR Dynamics remains the best choice for white label SaaS for the SMB Channel," said Tony Francisco, CEO, VAR Dynamics.

Dryall, who will begin his tenure at VAR Dynamics on September 3, spoke to SMB Nation today, and told us that a core part of this newly created position at VAR Dynamics will be developing new channel marketing strategies and aligning new sales operations with lead generation programs to optimize revenue and increase net-new partner sales and activity.

"I feel very fortunate to have worked with so many talented and skilled individuals over the past 10 years in this channel.  VAR Dynamics has a very exciting business model in place that is only going to get stronger," Dryall said. "The opportunity to help grow the business at this particular stage of the game is something I couldn't pass up."

Dryall credits VAR Dynamics CEO Tony Francisco for his current opportunity, as it was Francisco who suggested Dryall join the private label SaaS/cloud provider. The two had known each other from their involvement with CompTIA’s Executive Council, and ironically, it was at last month’s CompTIA ChannelCon that Dryall and Francisco hatched their idea to work together, and discussed opportunities and synergies. “After leaving LPI in July, I attended the CompTIA event on my own, to seek out new and interesting opportunities in the channel,” Dryall said. I met with several companies, and pulled about 8 to 10 solid leads. However, I felt that opportunity that was presented to me by Tony and VAR Dynamics was by far the most exciting.”

Dryall added that he also favored the position at VAR Dynamics over others that he was considering because of where the cloud and SaaS Markets are currently moving toward. “The reason why I took this opportunity was because Tony is a pioneer in this field, and now, in 2013, moving forward, this area of the industry will be one of the most competitive over the next few years, and it’s exciting to be able to empower MSPs to build out white label cloud services.”

With Dryall currently based in the Toronto, Canada, area, he will continue to work remotely for VAR Dynamics, which is headquartered in Clearwater, FL, when he starts next week. One of the first items on his agenda will be of course to attend industry events, the first being the ChannelPro SMB Forum on September 10. Alongside Melony White, Channel Director, Dryall will be representing VAR Dynamics at the company’s booth there, and he will likely be taking many of the skills he acquired at LPI to build upon VAR Dynamics’ current business model.

“I am looking to bring my familiarity with the MSP market and working with VARs and MSPs for the last 15 years,” Dryall said. “I want to bring a fresh perspective on sales activity and also will be working to implement new programs and opportunities that will continue to drive activity even further.”
