A new research report from Gartner found that IBM leads the worldwide flash storage market based on its 2013 revenue. According to the report results, IBM has a 25 percent market share of Solid State Array revenue.
As many of you are aware, Flash, or Solid State, is an important memory technology in improving application performance and analytics for businesses in the Big Data era. IBM has embraced this growing tech trend and it currently offers a variety of flash storage technologies as systems that are all-disk, all-flash, or a hybrid of disk and flash to best suit client needs.
Systems that improve Big Data analytics and offer a larger storage capacity are necessary for IBM’s clients worldwide, large and small that require systems able to support terabytes or petabytes of data.
“Big Data provides tremendous opportunity for our global clients,” said Jamie Thomas, General Manager, IBM Storage and Software Defined Systems. “As organizations look to gain business insight out of the building digital tsunami, more are turning to IBM flash storage as a key accelerator."
