IBM Reports Growing Momentum for Social Business in the Cloud

IBM with Cloud Logo1Last week, IBM released news that it has seen a strong push for its SaaS-based social business solutions. The company cited an October 2013 study of 800 decision makers to support this claim.

In fact, IBM found that respondents who deployed cloud solutions saw 2.5 times higher profit than their peers. This was especially true of organizations that deployed analytics and collaboration services to gain better insight into their companies.

“We’ve seen amazing demand over the past year as clients adopt and partners extend the capabilities we’ve been delivering through the cloud,” said Jeff Schick, Vice President of Social Software, IBM. “Over this period, we have spurred new innovation by integrating social capabilities into an organization’s business processes. This has been made possible through our open and extensible APIs that have let us unleash the power of cloud and help organizations collaborate and increase workforce productivity.”

On the social business front, IBM has partnered with Parallels to integrate with its cloud automation platform. This has allowed companies like Hootsuite and AppFusions to build new collaborative applications that allow users to view corporate data alongside relevant social media information from Linkedin, Twitter and Facebook.

In addition, IBM reported that it was recognized as the top enterprise social solution provider for 2013 by research firm, IDC.
