Linksys Adds New Surveillance Solutions to SMB Offerings

linksysLinksys recently announced the addition of four new IP surveillance cameras, and a new network video recorder to its number of solutions for SMB customers. The company explained that the cameras and network recorder are designed to work in synch and are priced to fit an SMB budget.

Of the four new IP surveillance cameras announced earlier this week, three have night vision capabilities. The new cameras are as follows: 1080p Indoor Night Vision Dome Camera LCAD03FLN, 1080p 3MP Indoor/Outdoor 360 Mini Dome Camera LCAM03360D, 1080p 3MP Outdoor Night Vision Bullet Camera LCAB03VLNOD, and the 1080p 3MP Outdoor Night Vision Dome Camera LCAD03VLNOD.

All four are 1080p resolution and feature vandal-proof housing and remote access. In addition, the IP surveillance cameras feature a firmware update that allows users to access a Wide Dynamic Range mode (WDR), and the mini-dome device can offer a view that is 30% wider than the standard fisheye lens.

“The introduction of our new IP surveillance camera offerings combined with Linksys Business switches and VPN routers build upon our commitment to deliver high quality and reliable connectivity and security solutions that provide scalable connectivity to meet the growing demands of small businesses,” said Steven Lin, director of product management for Linksys Business. The cameras and network video recorder give small businesses and resellers with tools they need to provide superior security, surveillance and supervision.”

The new network video recorder is the Linksys LNR0208C, and it features up to 8TB of storage space via two 4TB hot-swappable drives. The company explained that these are not included in the original device purchase, however. In addition, this network recorder has three USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port and can support up to eight simultaneous feeds.

The Linksys announcement said that these five solutions will become available throughout Q1 2014, and that they will be available via the Linksys distributor network. For more information about Linksys’ suite of solutions for SMBs, please visit the site here.
