This morning, ManageEngine announced the general availability of their new ServiceDesk-MSP app for the iPhone. This app, which is currently free to existing ServiceDesk-MSP customers, enables users to access and resolve tickets while away from their desktop.
“The surge in smartphone adoption and trends like BYOD are increasing enterprise mobility,” said Jayakumar Karumbasalam, Product Manager at ManageEngine, in a press release this morning. “With the iPhone app for ServiceDesk Plus-MSP, we’re bringing breakthrough speech recognition to help desk management, empowering MSPs to take even greater advantage of today’s mobile trends.”
Users may use either touch or voice commands to complete Service Desk tasks. Touch commands include the ability to create, edit and delete tickets, make ticket notes, view contract details and have access to custom fields. Voice commands, which are enabled by Nuance Communications Inc.’s speech recognition technology, allow the user to edit tickets, reply to tickets, close tickets and so Speech-to-Text data entry.
