ManageEngine Releases WiFi Monitor Plus

Manage Engine logoRecently, ManageEngine announced the latest app available for its existing FreeTools program, which currently has 40+ apps available. The WiFi Monitor Plus app is a free, easy-to-use tool that IT Admins can use to monitor and analyze available WiFi networks in their area, all from an Android device.

There are currently two viewing modes available for this app: Analyzer Mode and Survey Mode. The Analyzer Mode allows users to view all available networks and see any interference via a graph, to better optimize connectivity. The Survey Mode, on the other hand, allows IT Admins to manage their site for the best signal strength. For example, IT Admins can view the signal strength on their organization’s floor plan, to better view the strong and weak points of their network.

The UI is able to filter out the weakest WiFi signals to keep the display clean and simple for the user. Users may also add the App UI to their own network views, so they can access everything in one place. Vidya Vasu, head of the ManageEngine community and Free Tools, had this to say about the new app in a recent news release: “IT admins responsible for ensuring good network connectivity will immensely benefit from this app. The channel interference graph that shows both co-channel and inter-channel interference is a unique functionality that adds value by equipping the IT admins with actionable information. They can quickly decide on a course of action such as turning off a channel to increase the WiFi signal strength.”
