Today at the Interop Las Vegas 2013 event, Motorola announced the release of a new suite of indoor and outdoor-rated 802.11ac Access Points, as well an upgrade to the WiNG 5 Technology. These new solutions have been designed to enable government organizations and hotels to keep up with the growing Wi-Fi demands of employees and guests.
“The demands on network bandwidth are on the rise, and our end-to-end solution for the 802.11ac standard, including new APs and WiNG 5.5 upgrade, increase capacity in the Wi-Fi network for both enterprise and government,” Imran Akbar, Vice President and General Manager, Enterprise Networks & Communications, Motorola Solutions, in a press release today.“ In addition, the application acceleration engine with content caching helps accelerate application performance without requiring significant increases in WAN bandwidth.”
There are three solutions in the newly-announced suite: The AP8232, AP 8222 and AP8263. The AP8232 and 8222 are both rated for indoor use, and feature support for security sensors, pan-tilt-zoom cameras and WAN Back-haul. The AP 8263 is rated for outdoor use, and features a Wireless Intrusion Prevention System. All of the APs are compatible with both new and legacy versions of the 802.11ac systems standard.
The updated WiNG 5 technology allows users to deliver mobile applications with better speed, and features Wi-Fi management via a single dashboard. For more information about these announcements, please visit the site here.
