Nancy Williams Hired as eFolder’s Newest Account Manager

We heard this week from our good friend and community member Nancy Williams, that she has accepted a new gig as an account manager with eFolder, a provider of remote and local data backup, email security and email archiving services.

Pictured at right: Nancy Williams accepts her SMB 150 Award at last year's gala. Williams is a recipient of the award once again this year, which will be distributed during next week's spring conference.

Williams, who starts her new position this coming Monday, April 29, will be tasked with account management for eFolder’s partner network in the western United States. She will be, for the most part, responsible for helping the growing backup provider assist partners with anything from marketing to business development.

No stranger to the world of BDR, and certainly not the channel, Williams previously was with Cloud Service Depot as VP of Community Relations. She also has, on an ongoing basis, been involved with Jeff Middelton’s SBS Migration Group, helping to organize his yearly IT Pro conference each year.

When I asked Williams if there were any particular reason(s) as to why she chose to make the move to eFolder, she said that it was based mostly on the company’s reputation as well as the opportunity itself. “eFolder is growing like crazy,” she said. “They have a really good reputation, and I have heard many good things about the company over the years, especially while working at Jeff’s (Middleton) events. I was there when eFolder emerged in 2008, and I remembered how they grew so much very quickly, and of course everyone knows who Jan Spring (eFolder’s VP Partner Development) is! The growth is fabulous, and with 1,400 partners, I am very excited to be part of that growth.”

Having been involved with the SMB channel for around 10 years, Williams began to plant her roots in the industry courtesy of Harrybbb! Some of you might remember that Williams originally worked with SMB Nation from 2004-2006 as the company’s director of sales and operations. Her channel journey began when she heard from a friend that a local author on Bainbridge Island (Harrybbb), who had written books about Microsoft, was looking for a responsible person to help him about 15 hours a week fulfilling and shipping book orders. Williams was in graduate school at the time obtaining her master’s in education, and she needed the extra cash. Therefore, she says, she “entered into this fabulous industry totally by default.”

Aside from her involvement in the SMB channel, Williams is very proud of the fact that she is able to shift gears toward something else that she enjoys, which is coaching. Since 2001, Williams has been coaching the girls’ soccer team at a local high school in the North Kitsap School District.

Williams will be working out of her home office in Poulsbo, Washington; she will be reporting to Barry Bernazzoli, eFolder’s director of account management, who joined eFolder from Zenith Infotech earlier this year.
