Here we go again! As I do each week, I am really enjoying bringing our readers a quick round-up of the blog coverage I didn’t manage to get to during the week prior. As you probably saw in last week’s edition of “5 Blogs We Missed Last Week,” I was on vacation, but I am back, well-rested, and ready to “rock and roll.” Before you know it, SMB Nation will be gearing up for our annual fall event to be held Oct. 10-12 in Las Vegas at the Rio!
Speaking of live events, our own Harrybbb is in Scottsdale, AZ, for the first part of this week at the Autotask Community Live event. If you are attending, or in the area, stop by for a quick meet and greet with Harry!
1.) independenceIT Intros Cloud WorkspaceSuite this Week at Autotask Community Live: The new Cloud Workspace Suite is being introduced this week at Autotask Community Live in Scottsdale, AZ.
Cloud Workspace is designed to help MSPs, VARs and ISPs address the top concerns of their current and prospective customers, including the need to control IT operating expenses and capital expenditures, and at the same time improve service by enabling end-users to utilize their own devices (BYOD), keep workers connected from any location and address compliance, security, legal and industry requirements.
2.) Tegile Systems, Cisco, VMware Join to Prove In-Line De-Dupes: Tegile Systems launched a new reference architecture with Cisco Systems and VMware that dramatically lowers capacity and CPU utilization requirements in VDI environments, freeing up more resources to accelerate I/O performance. The integrated desktop virtualization solution offers users a simple, unified and scalable solution that provides faster deployments, greater flexibility of choice, efficiency and lower risk.
Successful reference architecture testing was performed with Cisco Unified Computing System B200 M3 servers, Cisco Nexus Switching 5000 series platform, Tegile Zebi HA2100 storage array and VMware View 5.1 with VMware vSphere 5 and supported 1,000 virtual desktops running average desktop user workloads. The Zebi hybrid storage array with in-line deduplication and compression enabled significant reductions in the amount of storage required to host the virtual desktops.
3.) snom Technology 7xx Series IP Phones Now Interoperable with Brekeke PBX: snom technology AG said that its 7xx series of desktop IP phones are now fully interoperable with Brekeke PBX from Brekeke Software, a developer of SIP software products for IP network communications.
snom’s 710, 720 and 760 business phones successfully passed Brekeke’s rigorous validation testing process ensuring full end-to-end integration with Brekeke PBX. The endpoint can now be auto provisioned through Brekeke’s PBX, using snom’s free cloud-based provisioning tool called snom Active. This enables quick and easy installation and simplified management directly through PBX.
The snom 7xx series joins other snom phone models - the snom 3xx series and snom 8xx series - currently certified for Brekeke PBX.
4.) Animoto Partners with Vimeo on Video Solution for SMBs: Animoto last week launched Animoto Pro Premium, a new tier of its subscription service designed specifically to meet the needs of SMBs.
Building on the success of Animoto Pro, Animoto Pro Premium includes a series of new features designed to help business users, such as professional photographers, real estate agents, marketing agencies or anyone looking to promote their business, by making professional quality video more accessible than ever.
