Polycom Announces Expanded Interoperability with BroadSoft UC Services

polycom smallYesterday, Polycom, Inc., announced that it has expanded interoperability with the BroadSoft UC Services line. This announcement added Polycom’s VVX300 and VVX 400 phone models to the interoperability list, which will help SMBs provide HD video and voice capabilities in their offices.

“Polycom and BroadSoft have a long-standing history of empowering service providers to create services and offerings that allow organizations of any size to capitalize on life-like video and voice communications to make faster and better decisions, increase productivity, and reduce costs,” said Gary Testa, vice president, Global Cloud and Service Provider Solutions Group, Polycom. “The added support for BroadSoft’s UC services across the Polycom VVX Business Media Phone portfolio creates a significant opportunity for service providers to further expand their hosted and managed service portfolios so that they can continue to deliver greater business value to their customers.”

In particular, the Polycom VVX 300-600 series phone models are now able to use three major features of the BroadSoft UC offering, including access to the BroadSoft Directory, which allows users to view contact card information, such as mobile, and extension number information, and save this information to their deskphone. In addition, users can access BroadSoft’s BroadCloud Presence, which allows for the use of Instant Messaging with contacts. Finally, users can set favorite contacts, which are then easily seen on the contact list.

Polycom will be offering a demonstration of this newly-announced interoperability at the BroadSoft Connections 2013 Conference, this week in San Diego.
