Today, snom technology, an international developer of IP phones for business use, announced that its snom UC edition Lync-qualified phones, including the snom 7xx and 821, can now be provisioned directly from the Lync server interface.
This now allows snom UC edition Lync phone users to remove some of the hassle from mass provisioning and deployment. According to snom, this is the first solution of its kind capable of leveraging Lync’s native Server components. Provisioning is a three-step process:
- Define language, time zone, function key, etc. settings.
- Run Lync PowerShell script to create a new policy.
- Assign the newly-created policy to users/location via the Lync PowerShell system.
