Stoneware, Inc., an Indiana-based Lenovo company, recently announced that it will be releasing a SaaS version of its webNetwork solution. In addition, the company stated that it has two new add-ons for webNetwork, designed for online security and ease of browsing.
The SaaS version of webNetwork will be hosted in secure data centers. Features of this upcoming release include enhanced support for HTML5, Chromebook, Android tablet and Mac technologies, webPass Single-sign-on, access to public cloud and network storage via webStorage and the ability to deliver published Windows/virtual apps to a variety of devices.
“Hosted webNetwork is a SaaS version of the same great product that 8 million customers already use,” said Rick German, CEO of Stoneware. “The hosted version fills a gap for customers who do not currently have the IT infrastructure, or the manpower to maintain such an infrastructure. Hosted webNetwork opens the door to these customers to experience the benefits of a unified workspace now.”
The addition of the two new add-ons will boost the overall solution security. These two add-ons are: webNetwork DataSafe, which is powered by Quarri technology. This particular add-on opens pages in a secure web browser, to help protect the user from malware attacks.
The second add-on announced today is webNetwork Data Optimization, which is powered by Squash Compression Technology. This add-on aims to create a smoother browsing experience by reducing latency, and enabling shorter page load times.
