Long-time readers will recall that we have always support Small Business Saturday that falls after the US Thanksgiving (started 2010). This year it’s November 30th. Here are a few ways you can participate.
Go Buy Something (Anything) from a Small Business!
I love shopping on Small Business Saturday. Last year I picked up some sauces from a small business in the cute tourist town of Wimberley, TX in the hill country outside Austin. And I’ll hit the elephant in the room head on folks. Yes - buying a drink (wine, beer even Vodka count when you visit a local diner. Snap a pic and post it in our SBS group on FB (join HERE)
Host a Reception at Your Business Location
It’s been done and we’ve done it. The pic below is an old fashioned small computer retailer (Bainbridge Technology Solutions) on “Main Street” in my former rural community just a ferry ride from Seattle. The owner Brandon Byron was the gracious host and Dona and Charles Keating provided the popcorn ten years ago in 2014! Visit the AMEX site for HERE more details and get your merch!

Years ago we held a Small Business Saturday contest with Sherweb wherein the contestants had to send a pic of supporting a client by dropping in and helping meet-and-greet customers. It was all about suiting up and showing up and bringing a growler of apple cider you created from your fall harvest out in the orchard!
Be A Small Business Saturday Evangelist
Heck - take a few minutes to educate your favorite small business merchant on attaching the movement to this holiday. Your help is needed to elevate awareness, excitement and enthusiasm. Why can’t we be in the same sentence as Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday?!?!? , Be part of the solution. It’s easy and it all starts at the AMEX link above.
Above all - have fun this Saturday and go out and make GOOD TROUBLE!
