Whenever I hear the term “Spring Fever,” I think back to my days as an elementary school student at the local Catholic school in my town. I remember my Second Grade teacher, appropriately named Mrs. Swords (if you looked in her direction she would stare back at you with these piercing eyes that were actually like swords), would call out all the lazy kids in the class hollering out: “What have you got Spring Fever or something??!!”
Well unlike my second grade teacher, we at SMB Nation think of Spring Fever as something cool and fun, rather than lazy and apathetic. If anything, we feel that spring is a time for renewal, rebirth and bringing in the new!
That being said, no wonder it’s a fitting season for us to hold the first of our twice-yearly classic events (don’t forget about our fall show later this year…it’s “Back to School!”) in the spring. If there ever was a moment to dust off your trade show attire and pull your suitcase out of the attic, now is the time, and why not kick things off with our Spring Conference to be held May 3-5 at the Microsoft Conference Center in Redmond, WA?
This year’s Spring Conference will not only give you the opportunity to renew and refresh your education and training in emerging technologies, it will also provide a setting that is fun and cool, while still lending itself to being able to learn and get some work done; renew your senses learning about hot topics like “Accelerating your Cloud Business,” and “7 Steps to A Killer Proposa lthat Sells Itself.”
But perhaps the greatest opportunity is the SMB 150 awards dinner on May 4th. Think of this as an event within an event. SMB 150 awardees will be present, and the “rest of us” can purchase a ticket to attend this dinner – a Cinco de Mayo party. Fun and margaritas will likely rule the evening, as well as time to network and meet and greet. An additional big “shout out” to BlackBerry, who is generously donating 150 new BlackBerry Z10 smartphones for each of our SMB 150 winners and sponsoring the awards ceremony! Note that the SMB 150 contest and event are a joint venture between the SMB Technology Network (SMBTN) and SMB Nation.
