Earlier today, TE Connectivity, a global networking company, announced the launch of a new solution to easily manage vertical blade-based core switch systems. The Vertical Switch Management platform is designed to save space and offer better access to lines.
In a press release, the company explained that all cables on the new platform will route directly from the switch ports to the patch panels above switches, which will allow for easier maintenance access to any cables. The platform is designed for either copper or fiber wires and will offer a single line-of-sight to maintenance engineers. In addition, the platform is compatible with the Universal Connectivity Platform and can fit into one 800mm wide cabinet.
“The core VSM solution removes the need for cable management at the side of the frame, bringing a number of benefits to the data center. Space savings, cost reductions, and enhanced efficiency are realized by ensuring clear representation of the switch ports and ease of access,” says Ken Hall, National Account Manager within TE’s Enterprise Networks business.
