It’s time for most of you to start over. Just this past week we spoke with a leading MSP on the eastern seaboard of the US informed me he has sold business practice to employees and taken a job as an IT Pro inside an analytics consulting firm.
Start-Up
Another friend of SMB Nation recently turned 50 years old and lost his job at a Fortune One firm (General Electric) as an 18-year employee in IT. He knows he’ll struggle to not only find another job that pays like that (very high). So we chatted about the options, alternatives and possibilities and decided he might be well-positioned to be high-end enterprise consultant focused on Azure and AWS.
Perfect Timing
In pivoting our published content, we surveyed you in early January. We spoke to close advisors. We checked in with our supporters. We even talked to old school friendimies. That outreach and research led to affirmation that we’re on the right track. And it’s personal. I truly believe that we’re in one of the eras where we have to reinvent ourselves again. Many readers were there when we went from timesharing to client/server. Big Iron to client/server. Netware to Windows NT Server. Client/server to cloud.
